"Travel is glamorous only in retrospect..." – Paul Theroux

This quote resonates deeply with me because it captures a universal truth. When we return from a journey, we tend to forget the hard moments and challenges. What stays in our memory are the beautiful experiences, the laughter, the breathtaking views — everything that made the trip worthwhile.

Something very similar happened to me during this Manali getaway. After a long pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the extended lockdown, I finally got a chance to break away from the routine and set off on a rejuvenating journey.

Our journey began from the sacred land of Kurukshetra, leading us through the snow-covered Rohtang Pass, the newly built and impressive Atal Tunnel, and into the tranquility of Sirsi village. We explored a traditional bee house, a unique part of Manali’s local culture, felt the spiritual calm at the Manu Temple, wandered through the lively Manali Market, soaked in the free-spirited atmosphere of Kasol, and ended with a peaceful visit to Manikaran. Throughout our journey, the majestic Beas River flowed alongside us, adding a soothing rhythm to our days.

Every moment was steeped in the charm of nature — and yes, all the necessary COVID safety precautions were carefully followed. This was truly a trip to remember, one that revived our spirits and reconnected us with nature.

I firmly believe that whenever your mind needs a reset — a "fresh mode ON" — the best way is to venture into the lap of nature.
